Car types is a rough classification of the playable vehicles in Need For Madness and Need For Madness 2 by the Need For Madness Wiki community. The cars are sorted via various car characteristics and stats.

Racers

See more: Tier List#Racing

Racers are cars that are designed to have fast speed, lack strength, and have the ability to send cars flying in rare occasions.

Rank 0 (Not allowed in some competitions):

  • DR Monstaa: The high Strength of DR Monstaa makes it a potential hazard by making it waste other racers by accident, and its Endurance makes it very difficult to waste should it be present as a racer. In tournaments that feature both racers and wasters, DR Monstaa is usually only allowed to be the latter.

Rank 1 (Best):

Rank 2:

  • Mighty Eight: Mighty Eight was a popular choice in the early days of NFMM, although the use of Aerial Boost means that Mighty Eight got relegated to the sidelines. It is still useful for casual matches, however, as it has high speed and excellent ground mobility.
  • Formula 7: Formula 7 was overshadowed by Radical One for the same reason Mighty Eight did. While it is faster than Mighty Eight, it is also more fragile, and it might even waste itself in racing-only matches if the player is not careful. Due to its speed, it is sometimes banned in dedicated Class B&C matches.
  • High Rider: Being a weaker version of Radical One, High Rider is still very fast and can use Aerial Boost. It also has higher Endurance than both Mighty Eight and Formula 7, and some casual players use High Rider in place of Radical One. Its questionable position as a Class A&B car and its Aerial Boost ability means that, like Formula 7, High Rider is sometimes on the ban-list for Class B&C matches as well.
Rank 3 (Mainly used in Class B&C matches):
  • Lead Oxide: Lead Oxide isn't very fast but still is fast enough among Class B and C cars, and it has good acceleration that allows it to keep up with the pack. It's strong defence and average speed means that Lead Oxide is best used in matches where survivability matter. In the context of Class B&C matches, Lead Oxide is popular both for casual and competitive play.
  • La Vita Crab: As La Vita Crab can be considered to be a lesser version of Mighty Eight, it comes with similar strengths and weaknesses. La Vita Crab is popular in Class B&C racing matches as it is faster than most Class B and C cars and is more durable than Formula 7, lowering its chance of wasting itself accidentally.
  • Sword of Justice: Even though its top speed is below average in Class B, Sword of Justice can have an upper hand in more complex tracks thanks to its high grip and acceleration ratings. Even though its Endurance rating is low, Sword of Justice can occasionally survive attacks thanks to its high Strength rating.
  • Kool Kat: Kool Kat, while hard to recommend, is powerful in straight-line courses such as The Stretch or Ghosts and Magic, thanks to it having the second strongest Aerial Boost ability out of all the cars. Kool Kat's above average defence means that it can occasionally be used as a racer in competitive matches as well.
  • Drifter X: Drifter X, despite its poor controls, can be put to great effect in Class B&C racing matches, thanks to its high Speed and above average Power Save for a racer.

Wasters

See more: Tier List#Wasting

Wasters come in ranks. The higher the rank, the slower but stronger the car will be (with the exception of Dr Monstaa and Radical One).

MASHEEN

Rank 0 (Not allowed in some competitions):

  • M A S H E E N: The specific physics set up and incredible Endurance rating of M A S H E E N made it resilient to hits from most other cars, including Ramp Effects from Radical One. This, along with its impressive one-hit kill ability, has let most wasting tournaments to disallow the use of M A S H E E N.

Rank 1 (Best):

  • DR Monstaa: DR Monstaa has the highest stat total of all the cars in Need For Madness Multiplayer, and the stats don't disappoint. It's second highest Strength rating of all the cars in NFMM means that it will get the upper hand of a fight most of the time, and deal great damage doing so. It also has high tolerance to damage. It is even better in Multiplayer than in Single Player, as almost all wasting matches, casual or competitive, ban fixing, killing worries of letting other cars to fix while DR is bouncing around. All-in-all, DR Monstaa is an excellent choice for a NFMM wasting match.
  • Radical One: Radical One, despite mainly being a racer, can be an effective waster as well. It's claim to fame is the deadly 'Ramp Effect': the ability to send most cars flying, dealing high amount to even the strongest of wasters. Radical One is mainly used by skilled players as it is only effective when it's power is full; it is otherwise easily wasted by the other cars.

Rank 2:

  • EL KING: Even though EL KING is inferior to DR Monstaa stat-wise, especially in regards to Speed and turning radius, it is still a strong waster in its own right, with high Strength and Endurance ratings. One thing EL KING can do that DR Monstaa can't, is the ability to perform multiple hits: this can deal a lot of damage.
  • Sword of Justice: Sword of Justice is the fourth strongest car Strength-wise, and coupled with better ground speed than EL KING, can be just as dangerous. Even though it can fight among Class A cars, it is even better in Class B&C matches: With the highest Acceleration and Strength among all Class B and C game cars, it is almost built for it, and is popular with most players.
Rank 3 (Mainly used for Class B&C matches):
  • Lead Oxide: Lead Oxide has outstanding defence among all Class B&C cars. This, along with a Strength rating matching Wow Caninaro, and being faster than said car, means that Lead Oxide can be a strong contender in Class B&C wasting matches.
  • High Rider: Despite it being much more fragile than its Endurance rating suggest, High Rider is still more durable than some Class B and C cars. As High Rider is faster than almost all of them, and has a decent Strength rating, High Rider can be an effective waster at times.
  • MAX Revenge: Similar to Radical One, MAX Revenge has the ability to send cars flying. Paired with an average Strength rating, it can catch racers off-guard and deal heavy damage. It is surprisingly durable, and has great Handling, which are other great additions.
  • Wow Caninaro: Wow Caninaro can be described as a lesser version of DR Monstaa. Having the second highest Strength rating of all Class B and C game cars, tied with Lead Oxide, along with formidable Endurance, Wow Caninaro shines best where survival matters. One thing to watch out is the tendency to bounce; a trait inherited from its stronger version.

Unknowns:

Some of the cars in the game, such as Nimi, can be used as a nuke in Multiplayer. That said, they are listed in this category until further discussion is posted.

Stunt Cars

Stunt cars (also referred to as "Daredevils" due to their nature) are vehicles that can do many stunts in a single ramp. With an exception of Nimi, they are also good racers thanks to their Aerial Boost capabilities. They generally tend to have less Endurance than the other car types.

RadicalOne

All-Purpose Cars

All-Purpose Cars (also known as All-Rounders) are cars that excel in more than one special trait, in this case Racing and Wasting. They do not necessarily required to have outstanding stats in more

Jackofallstats

than one field.

It is noteworthy that all Class B cars, including MAX Revenge(Class B&C) and High Rider(Class A&B) are all-rounders.
